The Olympus industry of Japanese origin expands in the Iberian peninsula by expanding its center in Coimbra, in Portugal. Its main activity is the repair and maintenance of the medical devices it sells, more specifically endoscopes that need repair and arrive from the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
This extension of more than 15,000 m² has included 4,000 m² of the INCO 155.3 profile for the self-supporting deck system for Hall C, 1.00mm thick. The structure had a layout of 5.60 m spans, which were justified by means of a technical report to verify compliance with the loads with this separation of supports. However, hall A had free spans between supports of 1.80 m, therefore the INCO 70.4 profile, 0.70 mm thick, complied with the technical specifications of the deck for this section.
In this project, an A3 interior environment had to be respected.
