Self-supporting curved roof for the stands of the soccer field in Cueto (Santander) - Spain
The INCO 70.4 steel profile protected with a high resistance coating in marine environments has been chosen in the rehabilitation of the stands of the Cueto football field (Santander) - Spain
In Cueto, located north of Santander, the comprehensive rehabilitation of its historic soccer field has been carried out. This field, founded in 1928, has enjoyed a budget of 650,000 euros for comprehensive rehabilitation based on: the installation of artificial grass, remodeling of the stands, renovation of the electrical installation and fencing as well as the common areas and parking. The roof of the stands has been solved with the INCO 70.4 self-supporting roof system with large spans. The product used on this occasion required guarantees against oxidation in aggressive marine environments since it is less than 20 m away from the Cantabrian Sea.
The curved INCO 70.4 profile has been made with Magnelis, a new material composed of base material steel, coated with zinc, aluminum and magnesium. This new metallic coating provides surface protection against corrosion in the most aggressive environments. Due to its special chemical composition, Magnelis offers up to 10 times higher corrosion resistance than standard galvanized steel. Few materials available on the market could be said to offer better protection than Magnelis in environments containing chloride or ammonia.
