The remodeling of the Border Complex at Los Libertadores Pass, located in the Andes Mountains, has received an investment of 62 million euros. This border crossing serves the largest flow of people, vehicles and cargo transport between Argentina and Chile and constitutes the main connection of the Chilean country with MERCOSUR.
The project has included the construction of a 30,000 m² Control and Inspection building, together with a housing building for civil servants and a sub-commission for police officers, among others. The roof of the Control and Inspection building has been solved by means of a curved laminated wood structure on which rest the wooden purlins and the INCO 70.4 Self-Supporting Curved profile acting as a roof enclosure.
Due to the admissible radius of curvature for this profile and its excellent behavior against considerable loads, the INCO 70.4 Curved profile is the most appropriate to adjust to the design and guarantee the necessary resistance to withstand snow and ice overloads of more than 1,100 kg/ m².
