The roof of this new production center has the self-supporting curved roof system sandwich in situ

The Escayescos company has created a new industrial plant for laminated gypsum board, whose investment exceeds 8 million euros in Alcaudete, Jaén.

The project has more than 4,000 square meters of construction, which will be covered with the sandwich self-supporting curved roof system. On this occasion, the self-supporting profile was INCO 70.4 curved with insulation and an upper enclosure with the INCO 44.4 curved profile.

The self-supporting curved roof solution for industrial buildings is a solution that optimizes the precast concrete structure, allowing free spans of up to 13 m without the need for intermediate supports. On this occasion, vaults with spans between 6.5 m and 7 m have been created. The vaulted solution allows the creation of open-plan spaces suitable for storage areas and hangars.

Roof typology

(1) Indicate the length of the span of the arch, which is the greatest horizontal distance between the supports of the curved roofing.

(2) Plan-view dimension representing the full length of the curved roof measured perpendicular to the arch span.

(3) Specify the obstructed area under the canopy, in square meters, as a proportion of the total area of the front or side (transverse or longitudinal) façade, in order to calculate the obstruction factor. If it is a closed construction or there is no obstruction area, indicate 0 m².
