In Humanes, in the province of Guadalajara, a self-supporting curved roof has been built to cover a sports area located in the center of the town, in front of the Casa de la Cultura and the Health Center. The intervention has been carried out on an existing track in order to be able to develop outdoor activities regardless of environmental conditions.
The covering of this space has been resolved with a metal structure and the self-supporting curved roof system with a free span of 15 m. For this, the INCO 100.3 Curved profile has been used, with a thickness of 1.00 mm and a metallic silver gray RAL 9006 finish. This INCO 100.3 Curved profile allows spans of up to 18 m to be covered depending on the loads and with thicknesses of up to 1.50 mm.
The structure is made up of circular section tubular pillars and H-type beams on which the roof and horizontal braces have been fixed. The horizontal braces are essential to support the efforts generated by the downward loads that act on the roof, and to limit the movements of the structure in an efficient way.
