The aim was to create a functional, practical and different building, introducing a bioclimatic system based on a ventilated and perforated metal facade.

Perforated cladding has a number of functional benefits and also achieving attractive and dynamical finished.

The functional advantages are:

– Filter the light depending on the requirements of theinterior.
– Control of Solar Radiation
– Lightness

the size and shape of perforations as well as its density allows the project to add an additional appearance of the exterior part of the building

According to the architects:

“The building consists of two volumes very marked and differentiated. The aim was to create a functional, practical and different building, introducing a bioclimatic system based on a ventilated and perforated metal facade that allows light through but it prevents the temperature from being so highand, thus saving on cooling.” (SSE Architecture)

In this case the type of perforation enables the façade to have an opaque appearance, while from the inside, while the façade is viewed from the interior the perforated skin is nearly unnoticeable. (See photo). On the other hand, as the sun sets the perforation begins to see, and the façade is transformed.

Roof typology

(1) Indicate the length of the span of the arch, which is the greatest horizontal distance between the supports of the curved roofing.

(2) Plan-view dimension representing the full length of the curved roof measured perpendicular to the arch span.

(3) Specify the obstructed area under the canopy, in square meters, as a proportion of the total area of the front or side (transverse or longitudinal) façade, in order to calculate the obstruction factor. If it is a closed construction or there is no obstruction area, indicate 0 m².
