Self-supporting sandwich roof system with the INCO 155.3 profile as a resistant element on the inside and the INCO 44.4 profile on the outside for the Renault Supplier Park.

This project consists of the expansion of the Automotive Sector Suppliers Park in Valladolid through a contest called by the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León. With an investment of 30 million euros, the Shed D project is integrated into the Renault Motor factory plot and has a constructed area of 15,800 m². the Shed D is attached to an existing shed on three of its facades to form a single building volume. It is worth noting the interest of the architecture studio in charge of the project to generate a unique and singular venue. The use of the corporate color of the Renault brand, Orange RAL 2009, as well as the composition of its elevations in three different bands give it an innovative image far from the prevailing industrial aspect.

The main body of the sawtooth roof gives the project a series of advantages: it provides natural lighting, and therefore considerable energy savings, guarantees effective ventilation of the warehouse and allows the incorporation of exhaust pipes for smoke evacuation in fire case. The industrial roof is solved by means of an on-site sandwich solution, consisting of the INCO 155.3 large ribbed interior profile between frames, 100 mm high Z-type separating belts, 100 mm thick semi-rigid rock wool panel (Euroclass A1) and INCO 44.4 exterior ribbed profile in HDX 55 micron finish.

This solution with large spans allows the lower INCO 155.3 profile to be fixed directly on the porticos of the industrial warehouse at 8 m, avoiding the provision of straps on the roof and thus facilitating installation work. In addition, the INCO 157.1 tray profile has been arranged as a closing solution in the water collection channels of the sawtooth skirts.

On the roof some sections of flat roof have been proposed, with an area of 3,800 m², executed with the INCO 70.4 Collaborating profile. The purpose of the flat roof is to house and centralize the installation equipment in these areas of the roof. This flooring solution supports overloads of more than 1,000 kg / m² for spans of 2.10 m without the need for shoring.

Roof typology

(1) Indicate the length of the span of the arch, which is the greatest horizontal distance between the supports of the curved roofing.

(2) Plan-view dimension representing the full length of the curved roof measured perpendicular to the arch span.

(3) Specify the obstructed area under the canopy, in square meters, as a proportion of the total area of the front or side (transverse or longitudinal) façade, in order to calculate the obstruction factor. If it is a closed construction or there is no obstruction area, indicate 0 m².
