The building is organized on two levels and has a total area of 6,500 square meters, more than double the size of the current station. The ground floor houses public areas such as the lobby, boarding and disembarking zones, commercial spaces, and check-in counters. It also includes private areas for security forces and various services.
The upper floor accommodates the boarding and pre-boarding halls, disembarkation areas, and the access walkways to the berths.
Among the most notable features of the project is the use of a self-supporting multilayer roof system. This system eliminates purlins and uses the INCO 155.3 supporting profile, 1.50 mm thick, capable of spanning 6.35 meters. On top of this profile are placed a spacer profile, thermal insulation, and an exterior cladding profile — in this case, the INCO 30.5. Both profiles have a finish suitable for C4M environments, coated with HDX-55 micron paint.
The completion of the works is scheduled for 2025, and the new station is expected to become an architectural landmark for Ceuta, strengthening the connection between the city and the peninsula.
